ARTRIO 2025
Galeria Frente | ArtRio 2025
Body, Matter, Imagination
At Galeria Frente's booth at ArtRio 2025, works are brought together that reaffirm the power of Brazilian art as a territory of invention and memory. From Portinari to Segall, from Di Cavalcanti to Iberê Camargo, the strength of modern tradition finds resonance in the experiments of Anna Maria Maiolino, Mira Schendel, Sérgio Camargo, Tomie Ohtake, and Tunga, revealing how matter can be converted into language, body, and thought.
Between the chromatic vibration of Manabu Mabe and Cícero Dias, the constructive rigor of Hermelindo Fiaminghi, and the spatial expansion of Yutaka Toyota, a territory opens up where gesture transforms into space and color into energy. The presence of artists such as Jaider Esbell and Vik Muniz broadens this horizon, introducing critical and contemporary perspectives that challenge and reinvent the national imagination.
The selection of works proposes a non-linear, but rather rhizomatic, journey: an encounter between heritage and rupture, tradition and deviation, memory and reinvention. In this dialogue between languages, Galeria Frente's booth celebrates the aesthetic plurality of Brazilian art—a living body in constant reinvention.
